Care & Storage

If you take care of your garment it will reward you with pleasure for many years to come. We have compiled a few helpful tips allowing you to get the most out of your knitwear.

Firstly, we do not recommend washing your cherished item in a washing machine, as it can cause shrinkage. Dry-cleaning is often a preferred option but you can also safely hand wash your piece and below are a few pointers.

  1. Fill your sink or basin with cold/lukewarm water
  2. Fully dissolve a wool detergent, preferably with a Woolmark symbol on the packaging.
  3. Soak the woollen garment for approximately 10 minutes. Do not rub the garment as this may affect the natural fibres.
  4. Remove the garment and press out excess water
  5. Fill the basin once again with clean cold/lukewarm water and rinse thoroughly.
  6. Lie flat on a large clean towel and re-shape the garment accordingly. Gently press out excess water by rolling up the towel.
  7. Dry flat, in the air naturally away from direct heat.

It is also important to store correctly to ensure longevity. We recommend gently folding and packing your item in a sealable, airtight bag or container.

Always clean your garment before you pack it away. There are also many natural repellents available to help in the fight against moths.
