Care & Storage
If you take care of your garment it will reward you with pleasure for many years to come. We have compiled a few helpful tips allowing you to get the most out of your knitwear.
Firstly, we do not recommend washing your cherished item in a washing machine, as it can cause shrinkage. Dry-cleaning is often a preferred option but you can also safely hand wash your piece and below are a few pointers.
- Fill your sink or basin with cold/lukewarm water
- Fully dissolve a wool detergent, preferably with a Woolmark symbol on the packaging.
- Soak the woollen garment for approximately 10 minutes. Do not rub the garment as this may affect the natural fibres.
- Remove the garment and press out excess water
- Fill the basin once again with clean cold/lukewarm water and rinse thoroughly.
- Lie flat on a large clean towel and re-shape the garment accordingly. Gently press out excess water by rolling up the towel.
- Dry flat, in the air naturally away from direct heat.
It is also important to store correctly to ensure longevity. We recommend gently folding and packing your item in a sealable, airtight bag or container.
Always clean your garment before you pack it away. There are also many natural repellents available to help in the fight against moths.
